My husband brought home a package of this flatbread a couple of months ago and it has been a staple in our kitchen ever since for a wide variety of meals.
Here is how to make our Greek Flatbread Turkey Sandwiches.
First spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the flatbread. I love mayonnaise, it's so creamy!
Next spread a thin layer of Thousand Island dressing on the flatbread. It gives the sandwich a delicious flavor burst.
Next add a layer of cheese. I used Muenster for this round of sandwiches, but you can use your favorite kind, or whatever you have on hand.
Add some thinly sliced deli turkey on top of the cheese.
And to top it off, pile on some lettuce. I was out of lettuce shreds while making these so I used a salad blend. It was a happy substitution, the salad tasted amazing with the Thousand Island dressing!
Fold over the bread and they're ready to eat...yummy. :)
These four sandwiches made enough for my husband, daughter and myself for two days of lunches. I cut up half for Peanut's lunch, ate the other half, my husband ate one and I put two in the fridge for the next day. I love leftovers!
If you don't have any Greek Flatbread on hand, this homemade bread would also taste amazing as a turkey sandwich. It's simple to make and ready to eat in an hour.
What is your favorite sandwich bread? Or are you the girl who opts for wraps over bread? :) I'm definitely a bread girl!
Greek Flatbread Turkey Sandwiches
We have turkey sandwiches in our house once a week or so and this Greek flatbread is such a nice flavor variation from our typical sandwich bread.
Ingredients
- 4 rounds Greek Flatbread
- 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons Thousand Island Dressing
- 4 slices Muenster Cheese
- 8 ounces (1/2 pound) Sliced Deli Turkey
- 2 cups Salad Mix
Instructions
Lay out the 4 Greek flatbread rounds. On each flatbread, spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise, a tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing, a slice of Muenster cheese, 2 ounces of deli turkey and top it off with a 1/2 cup of salad mix. Fold the flatbread over to form a half circle and it's ready to eat...yummy!
