Frozen Fruit & Veggie Yogurt Dots

My daughter, who is one and a half, loves these food pouches.  Since it's summer I came up with a way to help her cool down while enjoying one of her favorite treats.  And since you can choose varieties of food pouches with fruits and vegetables, I like them over popsicles, which are typically just fruit.

I decided on a pouch with sweet potato, blueberry, millet and greek yogurt.

Also, keep in mind that some of the food pouches are mostly fruit sauces and may be a bit too runny to form a nice dot.  The combinations with grains hold up the best from my experience.

Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and squeeze out little dots of food from the pouch.

By the way, these are so stinkin' simple!  Simple is my friend, especially with a busy toddler around.  If you like simple recipes check out my Super Simple Sugar Cookie Bars, Greek Flatbreat Turkey Sandwiches and my Quick and Easy Olive Oil Bread....see a trend here?  :)

Once you have squeezed the whole pouch onto the cookie sheet, pop it in the freezer for a few hours until frozen.

Once frozen, pick the dots off the wax paper and store them in a covered container in the freezer.  When I give them to my daughter, I will only give her a small amount at a time and keep the rest in the freezer, since they will tend to defrost quickly and turn back to mush.  :)

She loves these and gobbles them right down!  She seems to prefer the packets frozen into dots over eating them straight from the pouch.  And one pouch makes a ton of dots, so it is a snack she can enjoy for awhile!

Be careful tasting them yourself, they are so good you may not want to share them with your kids!  Do you have a go-to frozen treat for summer?
